Grandma’s Garden

Since the age of 8, I have entered a variety of baked and sewn items into the Evergreen State Fair. This year I had the pleasure of entering a wall hanging hand stitched by my 95-year old mother and machine quilted by me. My mom, by the way, is also a wonderful gardener so I named it “Grandma’s Garden”.

Ever the modest lady, my mom did not think her wall hanging was good enough for the fair. I assured her that it was amazing and deserved a special award. To her surprise, she received not only a blue ribbon, but the Judges Award. She also received 1.4K likes on a quilting site.

I am grateful every day that my mom, my idol, is still in my life. I am also grateful for the lessons I have learned and continue to learn from her to this day. I love you mom! Way to go!
